german studio aisslinger's 'NETwork' project sees the transformation of 2-dimensional
embroidery into a pop-up furniture object. 'NETwork' was first presented at milan design week 2010,
and is now on show at DMY berlin design festival 2010 as part of DMY allstars,
presented at the airport berlin - tempelhof hangar 5, booth 151.

example of one of the volumes translated from an embroidered 2D projection to 3D object

using new 3D textile pop-up technology, developed by german manufacturer gerber GmbH
in plauen, germany, the volumes of the 'NETwork' furniture objects are first translated
with software into 2D projections of themselves. these are then directly programmed into
the machines that stitch a pattern into a carrying surface. this surface is then dissolved
and the embroidered 2D pattern becomes a free form 3D object. the objects are formed
by stitched honeycomb structures which have been fixed over a fiberglass mold
and impregnated with resin in order to make them rigid and structurally stable.

從2D到3D我覺得是滿厲害的...只是它可以坐嗎?

這種椅子不是很早之前就有人做過了(用繩編的椅子 然後用什麼技術把繩子變硬 變成堅固的椅子)

而且這還是電腦算圖的...
